Introduction

Co-Founded by RMIT and Learning Strategies in 2023, Impact offers those who are working in the delivery of human services a network of professional expertise, resources, and systems of support.  Impact is designed to be a continual work in progress, accumulating knowledge and experience that can be used by professionals in adapting international standards of practice to the challenges and opportunities presented in the local context.

Impact surveys the wellbeing professional community annually to identify priorities for professional development and generate ideas for initiatives.  Impact partners with NGOs, schools, and professional organizations to co-host events.

Bios

Tony Louw M.A., M.Sc., QBA
Managing Director, Learning Strategies

As founder and managing director of Learning Strategies, Tony Louw has been working to support children, adolescents, adults, families, and medical and educational institutions in Vietnam since he arrived in 2006. In addition to his role in organisational leadership, Tony is experienced in the provision of assessment, intervention, and case management services for individuals affected by autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, trauma, mood disorders, language impairments, learning difficulties, addiction, eating disorders, as well as individuals at risk of self-harm and suicide.

Tony holds two masters degrees from the Universities of Glasgow (Social Science) and Liverpool (Psychology) in the UK, and is board certified as a Qualified Behaviour Analyst through the QABA. Tony also advises as a member of the International Standards Committee for the QABA and as a member of the Industry Advisory Committee for the RMIT Psychology Programme.

Michael Tower, MSW, MA
Associate Director, Wellbeing, RMIT Vietnam

Michael is a clinical social worker with experience working in the US, Nepal, and Vietnam.  Originally from the US, Michael has worked for government agencies, human service organizations, and education settings in clinical and leadership positions.  Common themes in Michael’s work include child protection, trauma recovery, and wellbeing initiatives.

Michael has a masters degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago and a masters in Organizational Leadership from the University of San Fransisco.
