9am-9:45am. Welcome and Service Introductions
A brief introduction to services in Vietnam that address Gender-based Violence. This segment will result in a service map for Vietnam.
9:50am-10:40am. Exploring the Professional Needs of the GBV Sector
Engage with other attendees about the needs of professionals in the GBV sector. Topics will include development of direct service staff, data collection and research, connections to organizations.
10:45am-11:30am. Presentation: Can We Empower Post-Traumatic Growth?
Typical accounts of traumatized clients suggest they will struggle in the long term with interpersonal and psychological harm. Research on post-traumatic growth indicates that with the right support, clients can gain skills and strengths far beyond what they had before the trauma occurred. This session will focus on the key elements to support post-traumatic growth, and help organizations evaluate if their services offer this opportunity.
